 Tutorial: Making Valentine flowers

Supplies

Tools

• Scissors
• Glue gun
• Pencil
• Glass vials

Materials

• Wooden sticks
• Red felt
• Madder-red roses
• Foliage
• Raffia ribbon
• Wall hook
• Scratch paper
• Copper wire

Directions

Constructing the Frame

• Create a diamond-shaped frame out of sticks, binding them together with raffia ribbon.

• Add the hook at the top.

Decoration

• Cut hearts out of the felt.

• Glue them to the frame.

• Draw the letters L.O.V.E. on the scratch paper.

• Using the above pattern, cut the letters out of the felt.

• Glue "love" to the frame.

Finishing Touches

• Attach the glass vials by wrapping the cooper wire around them and using it to link one vial to the next.

• Finish by adding roses to the vials and some folliage.

Tips

• Cut the bottom of the roses' stems in a cross so that they can drink more easily and will last longer.

• Have two people work on constructing the frame.  One person can hold the sticks while the other ties the raffia ribbon.
